At Atlantis, every step of our process is meticulously completed with flawless results in mind. From resurfacing and reconstruction to applying the last top coat, every product and method we use is the latest in concrete coating technology:
To ensure a proper bond, the concrete surface must first be prepared. We use diamond grinders of different sizes with integrated vacuum systems to ensure a perfectly smooth surface that is free of dust and debris and ready for a fresh coat of paint.
One of the best features of our concrete coating is that it can essentially repair an old, cracked concrete slab. That's because we use menders and fillers to repair cracks and spalls in the existing floor before ever applying any coating.
After the concrete has been prepped, the first coat of self-priming polyurea paint is applied. This coat chemically bonds the paint securely to the floor, ensuring that it won't ever peel up, even if it is exposed to intense pressure, drastic temperature changes, or even corrosive chemicals.
Once the base coat has been applied, our expert installers distribute your chosen flake colors using a broadcast technique that results in a beautiful, well-distributed blend across the entire surface.
In order to remove any imperfections, we scrape off the loose flakes after the basecoat has cured. Afterwards, we vacuum the floor to prepare it for the final coat.
After our floor is prepped, coated, flaked, scraped, and vacuumed, we can start our final step - the application of the clear coat. We start by clear coating all of the vertical surfaces and then brushing the perimeter of the floor itself. The clear coat is distributed across the floor through a technique of rolling and squeegeeing.
